The Law of Retribution

The earliest space explorers were simply inquisitive people who looked up into the night sky thousands of years ago and wondered, "what is it and how does it work?" Early human understanding of the mysterious firmament above was based on mythology and superstition. Almost every early culture had a simple yet elegant story of how the heavens came into being.

Well here is the truth: The universe was ours in the black past and will be once again. The universe is ours and it is the right and purpose of all humans to re-conquer and tame it.

The savage universe was given to us.
Legend has it that the universe was passed to our keeping by the ancients, who discovered a way to leave this plain. Through human weakness we passed into centuries of anarchy and the human race split.

Years of living apart, much has been lost but the Lex Talionis have rediscovered law and justice and wish to impose this back on the universe to realign all that was lost and return it back to the wondrous peace that was once here.

The Mission
We must strive to conquer it through strength and influence. It was ours. Many refuse to accept it but they must be reminded of their place.

Commandments & Methods
There are a number of commandments with methods to reposition ourselves in the physical universe before we too can make the step onto the other plain like our ancient ancestors.

Firstly we MUST trade: Trading makes us grow, be wealthier, interact with the uninitiated and also increases our influence

Secondly we MUST explore: The universe is ours we must know and understand it.

Thirdly we MUST obey: The law is what makes us superior and will unite us and make us grow.

Fourthly we MUST make others obey: The law is not optional. Pirates, racketeers, criminals and rogues are damaging the properties and operations in our universe. We must offer them a solution to their deviant crimes: retribution.

Fifth we MUST influence: Others may wish to join, help or assist or simply may be of use without knowing it. To influence people to obey the Lex Talionis (or the law) is not wrong. It is merely getting people to do the right and just thing. Be a friend and ally and make them do our bidding.

Class 2: Law and Retribution Defined

Clear Knowledge of the Definitions

Ever wondered who we are and why we righteously slaughter the wrong doers of the universe? Well here is an answer for you to ponder on:

“While all cultures have some system of social regulation and conflict resolution, law is a distinct phenomenon in that it is written and administered retribution and conflict resolution. The earliest human legal systems were almost universally forms of Lex Talionis, or "the Law (Lex) of retaliation."
The Lex Talionis is a law of equal and direct retribution: in the words of the Hebrew scriptures, "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, an arm for an arm, a life for a life."

Early Law

The earliest written code of laws was the Code of Hammurabi, the most famous of the Old Babylonian, or Amorite, kings of Mesopotamia. Hammurabi's code of laws is almost entirely based on the principle of equal and direct retribution; it betrays the origin of law in retributive violence. Since the lex talionis is often the earliest form that law takes, from it we can conclude that the basic function of law is revenge and retribution.
Unlike direct retribution, however, the law is administered by the state or by individuals that cannot be victims of revenge in return. While revenge and retribution threatens to break down society as people take reciprocal revenge one another, revenge as it is embodied in law and administered by the state prevents mutual and reciprocal revenge from tearing the fabric of society apart.” (accredited to Richard Hooker).

We are Society

We are as you can see the basis of society. The foundation of justice. Without Lex Talionis the Sirius system will once again fall into anarchy. We are in fact part of the fabric of the system itself; and so when retribution is administered by one of our kind you can be sure the criminal deserved it.
